My love story with weddings begins in 2016 in Malaysia, when I received an invitation for my first Indian wedding. Obviously to fully embrace the occasion, I had to buy my very first saree. From the family inclusive ceremonies to vivid colors and fragrant flowers, every moment was astonishing. Inspired by the beauty and the experience of that day, I knew in my heart that I wanted to become an (Indian) wedding planner.

 

With full dedication, I dove into the world of Indian weddings. I reached out to a wonderful wedding planning company and worked with them on beautiful weddings. As I immersed myself in the vibrant traditions and customs, my passion for multicultural celebrations only grew. Upon completing my studies at Hotelschool The Hague, my journey led me back to Malaysia, where I started with a new adventure as a wedding specialist at a beautiful hotel. Here, I experienced the beauty of Chinese weddings, from the rich traditions of the tea ceremony to the joyous traditional games. I admired the fusion of tradition and western elements in these weddings. One thing was certain I wanted to work with multicultural wedding planning.

 

However, fate had other plans in store, and Covid led me down a different path. Drawing on my passion for fashion and styling, I transferred into the world of retail, managing my own boutique. I learned a lot about styling and translating personality into tangible expressions. Remembering my dream, I took the opportunity to work in event management at a tech incubator. Learning more about entrepreneurship, organization, and innovation. My full journey laid the foundation for DEWE
